Product Type:

Single Seat Valves

Description

The SW4 Series single seat valve is a hygienic and highly adaptable solution designed to meet the rigorous standards of modern processing industries. Engineered for durability and cleanability, it is ideal for use in the dairy, food, beverage, brewing, and chemical sectors.

Main Features and Benefits

  • Reinforced housing with additional wall thickness to reduce seat stress

  • Durable shaft seals made of wear-resistant elastomer/PTFE

  • Tool-free maintenance with quick-release clamp ring

  • Metal stop for defined gasket compression

  • Spherical body design prevents product residues and reduces CIP cleaning time

  • Profile gaskets with markings for easy identification

  • Various configuration options: e.g. tangential connections or tank outlet variants

  • Suitable for high-pressure applications and viscous media

  • Available with steam barrier, control cone and long-stroke version

  • Complies with 3-A Sanitary Design requirements

  • Product contact parts made of stainless steel AISI 316L / 1.4404

  • Seal materials: standard EPDM, optional HNBR or FPM

Available Valve Configurations

  • SW4 H – Manual operation

  • SWS4 – Changeover valve

  • SWT4 – Tank outlet version

  • SW4 Long Stroke – For viscous media or coarse particles

  • SWR4 – With control cone

  • Tangential inlets/outlets

  • ATEX-compliant and 3-A certified models

  • Nominal sizes: DN 25–DN 150 / 1″–4″, 6″

Operating Principle & Key Components

The SW4 single seat control valve is designed to regulate or shut off fluid flow in processing lines. It operates pneumatically — using compressed air to move the valve stem and open the valve, while a spring mechanism returns the valve to its closed position when air pressure is released.

Two actuator configurations are available:

  • NC (Normally Closed): Air pressure lifts the valve stem to open; a spring lowers it to close.

  • NO (Normally Open): Air pressure lowers the valve stem to close; a spring lifts it to open.

The standard SW4 valve comes equipped with the CU4 Direct Connect control unit. Integrated LED indicators show the valve’s current open or closed position, enhancing process visibility.

Main Components of the SW4 Valve

  1. Control Unit – Monitors and indicates valve position via LED signals.

  2. Actuator Screw – Connects and secures the actuator to the valve body.

  3. Pneumatic Actuator – Powers the opening and closing movement of the valve stem.

  4. Yoke – Supports and aligns the actuator and valve body components.

  5. Valve Shaft – Transfers motion from the actuator to the seat mechanism.

  6. Upper Housing – Encases the shaft and provides structural support.

  7. Valve Seat – Ensures tight shut-off and precise flow control.

  8. Lower Housing – Forms the fluid-contact part of the valve and connects to the process line.

  9. Sealing Assembly – Includes elastomer seals that maintain hygiene and prevent leakage.
